As the company celebrates its 40th year in business, Midwest is growing faster than ever, carrying on its founding legacy of innovation in the fields of dust control, soil stabilization, anti-icing and deicing, and environmental services.

We are thrilled to announce that this month marks the 40th anniversary of Midwest Industrial Supply Inc.’s founding, and the company continues to grow faster than ever. In 1975, our CEO and founder Bob Vitale started Midwest to tackle conveyor belt anti-icing for our very first customer, the American Electric Power-operated Conesville Generating Station, in Conesville, Ohio.

His solution-oriented approach to this complex issue led to immediate success, laying a foundation of excellence that continues to this very day.

In our 40 years, Midwest has expanded its operations from industrial dust suppression to the fields of soil stabilization, natural paving, road and surface management, and lubrication, as well as anti-icing and deicing.

We have made it our mission to help governments, municipalities, energy companies, heavy industrial facilities, and mines solve their toughest operating and compliance challenges.

We have developed a track record of success throughout the energy world, extending the scope of our service far beyond what anybody could have imagined 40 years ago. While our roots are in the coal industry, we now offer innovative solutions in nearly every vertical, including everything from oil and gas to solar and wind energy, and we remain dedicated to adapting our services to fit the changing needs of our clients.

Getting Older without Getting Old

Last year, we were named to the Inc. 5000 list for the 6th time in eight years, marking Midwest as one of the fastest growing companies in America and putting us in the top 4% of companies to have been honored. This continued growth is a testament to the ideals of innovation and expertise that we bring to all of our industry solutions.

Most companies lose relevance as they get older, but Midwest is proud to say that, like a fine wine, we have improved with age. Over our company’s lifespan, environmental issues and regulations have become increasingly difficult to navigate. We have proven time and time again that we can evolve with these changes, and we remain committed to helping other businesses do the same.

When Bob Vitale started Midwest 40 years ago, he had only one goal: solving a problem. This ethos is what allows us to thrive to this day, bringing our wide array of resources and knowledge to anyone who finds themselves in search of a solution.
